Description
The Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media has been designed according to the specifications of the National Training Package for the Film, Television and Multimedia Industry. The program is designed to build valuable skills and knowledge in the areas of screen writing, pre-production, production and post-production for single camera and multi-camera productions. Throughout the program there is a strong emphasis on industry knowledge and employability skills, collaboration, team building and professionalism.
Among a variety of skills, you will learn how to:

write and edit scripts that meet creative production requirements

conduct effective negotiations with members of a creative team

work with performers to produce quality performances

generate a range of innovative concepts and ideas

demonstrate originality in the creative directing process

plan and coordinate all aspects of pre-production, production and post-production

interpret, monitor and adjust budgets and cost estimates

direct a range of professional camera, lighting and sound operations in single and multi-camera environments

Career outlook
The program is designed to prepare you for transition into the international film industry or as an independent industry professional as screenwriter; story editor; writer-producer-director, or other film development role.
Entrance requirements
Entry to the program is by written application plus an interview.
There are no vocational requirements or educational qualification pre-requisites for the program. However, applicants must be over 18 years old and should be able to demonstrate experience and/or ability to meet the demands of the program including a high level of English language and a strong interest in/knowledge of film as a creative medium.
How the course is taught
The course is a total immersion program, delivered over two years full-time emulating worldwide film practice. You can expect to make up to 8 short films during the two year program with all film production costs built into the course fees. You will have complete creative control, using high-end production facilities and you will be encouraged and supported to enter your best work into international and local festivals and screenings. On completion of each film, copyright will rest with you as filmmaker.
