Equipment and Technology

At IFSS, we aim to deliver the most comprehensive learning environment possible. We provide our students access to and experience with the widest possible array of equipment, tools and technical processes to make self-sufficient filmmakers for the digital age. Our in-house equipment store can field up to six simultaneous student productions, professional equipped for light, sound and camera.

The school has more than 20 cameras covering a diverse range of acquisition formats including DV, HDV, 8mm and XDCAM. Extending these shooting options is an array of cinema prime lenses for use with interchangeable lens cameras.

This in-house equipment is supplemented by professional relationships with camera suppliers such as Panavision to provide 16mm and 35mm camera equipment. Our aim is to ensure students get hands-on with all the major contemporary resolutions and formats and understand the aesthetic and technical implications of each.
