The school has more than 20 cameras covering a diverse range of acquisition formats including DV, HDV, 8mm, XDCAMEX, 2k and 4k digital in both tape and tape-less (solid-state and hard-drive) recording mediums. Extending these shooting options is an array of prime lenses and lens adapter systems for use with various cameras.
The school provides comprehensive in-house post-production resources focused on flexible, efficient and integrated digital workflows and offers more than 50 computer workstations in both classroom and private production environments for student use.
Technological Philosophy
Our aim is to make creative technology transparent. The tools of cinema should be an invisible conduit to creativity and our filmmakers can be confident that their creative vision is never limited by a lack of technical knowledge.
Our comprehensive hands-on learning style means that every aspect of filmmaking feels familiar. Traditional filmmaking is segmented, hierarchical and linear. The digital future is very different. Cinema is no longer just shoot/cut/screen. Our courses embrace the diversity of new possibilities that digital cinema delivers
Our Facilities
We know the right environment ensures the right results.
That’s why our campus is a purpose-designed facility, built around a large flexible studio space that can be used for shoots, demonstrations, and directing exercises.
THE SMALL SCREENING ROOM (GROUND FLOOR)
The school features a series of production rooms equipped with the latest digital production technology. Seminar and lecture theatres are well-equipped to support student learning. We've got a 50-seat theatre for screenings and lectures, and computers have high-speed internet connections.
Our work rooms are fitted with screenwriting and production management software and we have a number of specially-configured studios designed for demonstrations, lectures and student shoots. There’s even a purpose-built hair and make-up studio.
We ensure students have access to the best technology, and this commitment is constantly evaluated and updated. It takes nothing less to deliver Australia's finest film education.
