IFSS THE ONLY FILM SCHOOL TO MAKE TROPFEST FINALS THREE YEARS IN A ROW

Former IFSS student Jayne Montague, has made the final selection of Sony Tropfest for the second year in a row. This makes the International Film School Sydney the only film school to have a student in Tropfest for three years running.

Sony Tropfest is the world’s largest film festival attracting more that 150,000 people to screening venues in cities across Australia. Each year there are more than 700 entries and only 16 finalists are selected.

Jayne Montague's film for Sony Tropfest 2008, Glass, stars Callan Mulvey and Lara Cox, who first worked together on 90s TV show Heartbreak High. Mulvey recently starred as Mark Moran on the hit TV drama Underbelly. Glass is Jayne's second film as Director, and the first film in which she took on all three roles of writer, director and producer.

Glass achieved two awards at Sony Tropfest 2008: the Women in Film Award for Jayne and Best Cinematography to Carl Robertson.

In 2007, Jayne's first short film, Still, was selected for the festival. Jayne worked on Still with several IFSS student, including producer Valentina Forno and writer Nick Thompson.

After studying at the International Film School Sydney, Jayne set up her own production company - Windermere Blue - at Fox Studios. She has worked on several short films and interned on two recent Australian feature films - The Black Balloon and Hey, Hey It's Esther Blueberger. Jayne is currently developing a feature film and is in pre-production on a trailer for the feature.
